Banana Walnut Bread

My daughter just LOVES bananas so it is a staple in our house. But sometimes we just forget we have bananas at home leaving us with more bananas than what we know what to do with. Most of the time though they are overripe and brown.

Just perfect for banana walnut bread! You can substitute the walnuts with chocolate chips if anyone has an allergy though.

This recipe is so simple you can do it with your kids and you will probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen already!

You will need:

  • 2 cup of flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup of sugar (can be brown sugar or granulated sugar, your preference)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (you can substitute this with chocolate chips)

  1.  First, you will need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9x5 pan.
  2. Combine all dry ingredients and make sure they are mixed well. Quick little tip, make sure that you don't over measure the baking soda or it will have a weird taste.
  3. In a separate bowl, you will mash the bananas. I like to have my toddler help with this part.
  4. Combine eggs, and walnuts with the mashed bananas and mix very well.
  5. Mix dry and wet mixtures together.
  6. Once it is combined well pour into your greased pan and let it bake for about an hour. Make sure to insert a toothpick in the center to make sure it is baked all the way through.

Enjoy this delicious bread with a nice glass of milk. I hope you and your family enjoy this bread as much as mine does.
